Chad is a third generation farmer from Woodford County. He owns a 2,400 head sow farm that produces and markets approximately 70,000 pigs annually, in addition to raising corn & soybeans, and being a Pioneer dealer since 1991.

This is Chad's first term on the IPPA board, but he has been a part of the Expo planning committee and also served as an IPPA delegate. He will be serving on the Marketing committee.

He and his wife, Staci, have been married since 1995 and have four children, Tessa, Darby, Sofie, and Sierra.

Chad is actively involved in his community by being a member of the Eureka CUSD school board and New Castle Bible Church. He currently serves on several boards related to the Carthage System -  Rock Creek Swine LLC, Eagle Pt Swine LLC, and B1G Bin LLC.

Being a part of IPPA has been instrumental in connecting him with legislators, industry professionals, and educators. These acquaintances have been helpful in the multiple expansions his business has gone through. They have also motivated him to stay in touch with legislators and lobbyists so that the voice on the farm is heard.

If he could give any advice to someone interested in getting into livestock production it would be that they have a strong livestock background and have employees who have worked with animals. It is a unique occupation in that the farmer needs to be willing to sacrifice his/her own comfort for the sake of the animals they care for, yet it is also a very rewarding career with many opportunities for growth.
